The SX Linear is a NEW introduction during Pack Expo 2011. This machine is a new addition to the SS Linear and RS Linear family of single station leak testing machines. The SX uses the same advanced control system, developed and introduced in 2010, that utilizes a color touch screen and simplified visual interface.
The SX Linear is a stand-alone machine designed to roll up to, and test over, an existing conveyor system. Optionally, if required, a conveyor can be supplied.
The machine uses a Gate cylinder to regulate containers into the test area. A Stop cylinder positions the container underneath the test probe. The integrated reject is located adjascent to the test area. The program monitors proper container flow through the machine to provide alarms to indicate setup errors.
The SX handling approach, i.e. gating and holding containers, is required for angle neck containers applications. The machine also offers a benefit to customers that do not wish to introduce conveyor transfers onto the production line, and require a flexible and highly portable machine. Containers must be stable enough to be backlogged and stopped in order to successfully utilize this type of machine.
