The biggest challenge in designing in holographics and foil is in proofing and visualizing exactly how a design will look on foil. Therefore, Boutwell, in collaboration with its technology and creative partners,designed and manufactured a test run denoting numerous configurations of designs on foil, with varying degrees of white backgrounds and screen levels. They then manufactured these designs on various types of foil and holographic stocks, giving the designer production examples of the impact of numerous design permutations.
