At Owens-Illinois (O-I), Inc., Perrysburg, OH, price, product mix, favorable currency translation offset fewer tons sold, boost sales 11% to $2.211 billion during 2Q08 compared with $1.997 billion in 2Q07; earnings from continuing operations spike 48% to record $227.5 million in 2Q08, compared with $153.8 million in prior year period, reflecting, in part, last year's divestiture of plastics packaging business on 31 July 2007, its reclassification as discontinued operation…
