2006 marks the 40th anniversary of innovative equipment solutions for Pillar Technologies. Established in 1966, the founders believed so strongly in the strength of their technology that they named the company “Pillar”, symbolizing the powerful support provided by the products manufactured.

As the industry’s preferred manufacturer of induction cap sealing equipment, Pillar Technologies has a record of accomplishments. In 1973 they introduced the first solid-state induction sealer; 1983 the first transistorized air-cooled power supply for induction sealing; 1985 the worlds first “universal coil”; 1992 brought to life the FOILER – a water-cooled IGBT technology based sealer; 1997 introduced one of the world’s first “waterless” (air-cooled) induction cap sealers; 1999 expanded the waterless line from 1kW to 4kW (with sizes in between); 2004 marked the birth of the now highest powered induction sealer on the market today, the 6kW Unifoiler waterless system. 2006 will prove to be another milestone with new introductions planned to debut between now and Pack Expo in October/November.

Pillar Technologies was acquired by Illinois Tool Works (ITW) in 1998. Being one of over 650 decentralized business units under the ITW umbrella places Pillar at the forefront of technical excellence. Being part of the ITW family opened up a host of engineering and chemical engineering resources that has, and will continue to, enable Pillar Technologies to satisfy our customer’s needs well into the future.
