Arlington, Va.; Oct. 16, 2008 – PMMI invites packaging suppliers and end users with technical, engineering, research and/or operations expertise to submit presentation proposals for the PMMI Operations Conference (March 18–19, 2009; Tampa, Fla.). The conference theme will be “Boost Profits by Rethinking Your Packaging Operations.”

PMMI Recently added the Operations Conference to its education and workforce development programming efforts, PMMI U.

“Our mission is to give packaging operations professionals new tools for improving processes, profitability and the performance of packaging systems,” said Maria Ferrante, PMMI director of workforce development.

To be considered as a speaker, visit http://www.pmmi.org/a/opscon.asp to complete and submit the Speaker Application Form, a presentation abstract (100 words maximum) and speaker profile. The deadline for submissions is Friday, Oct. 31, 2008.

An advisory panel of packaging professionals and PMMI management will review and evaluate all presentation proposals based on the following criteria: overall quality (focus and content), uniqueness of topic, business value of topic, industry experience and technical and/or production insight.

Special consideration will be given to presentations delivered by packaging managers of consumer packaged goods and industrial manufacturers. Abstracts that are commercial in nature will not be accepted.

PMMI will notify candidates of the status of their submissions by Monday, Nov. 19.
