PPi Technologies, Inc. introduces Several New Globally developed pouch machines and products at PackExpo 2002 in Chicago

PPi Technologies, Inc. of Sarasota, Florida will introduce at the PackExpo 2002 Show in Chicago, several new pouch machines and flexible products developed around the world for the NAFTA market. A high-speed, Laudenberg German built form-fill-seal StandUp and press-to-close zipper machine, which produces either large simplex or small duplex single serve pouches at 130 ppm. The machine can be easily moved and is designed to share existing vertical machine scale infrastructure, thus saving the client capital expenditure and duplication of scales etc. A small Laudenberg prefabricated USA built machine for filling and sealing SofTubes™ developed by Obrinova Packaging of Switzerland. The SofTube™ is a unique flexible tube made from laminated roll stock. The SofTube™ is filled through the bottom and stands on the cap for display purposes. This is the tube of the future! Also on display is a high-speed three-lane NISHIBE shaped pouch maker from Japan, that produces StandUp prefabricated pouches using gravure printed roll stock from KAPAK. These pouches, have a straw inserted inside the pouch, using the high-speed PSG ABT four lane transverse South African built machine. This patent pending pouch and process is targeted for the beverage industry. From the plant in Korea we are showing a PSG LEE fill-seal pouch machine for dry products, designed to keep changeovers to a minimum in the factory and requires no format parts for pouch sizes within the machine range. This machine handles the new patented QuaDSeal™ Pac four sided bag with PACTIV slider zipper from KAPAK, alongside traditional StandUp pouches with either press-to-close or other types of Slider zippers. Pouch size changeover is achieved in less than 15 minutes. From Switzerland and Japan we are showing new Tray POUCHER™ with a SmartDevice™ for heating freezer to microwave foods and the new MicroSteamer™ StandUp pouch for refrigerator to microwave foods. As part of an exceptional after sales 24/7 support program, totally developed and patented in the USA, we will show E-Source™ electronic part ordering, real time trouble shooting and training program for customers that have purchased machines. Finally, there is on display a small space efficient pilot plant scale up and protocol laboratory pouch system, used for developing new pouch products and or determining stability studies on new film structures. This system includes USA built ODEN liquid filler, Easiweigh of England dry product scale, USA built PSG MINI fill-seal, gas flush or vacuum machine and top seal chiller, with PSG FT fitment inserter and PSG PBT non destructive pouch burst tester.
