New from PPi Technologies, Inc. is the Laudenberg FBM 54 simplex form-fill-seal machine for LARGE StandUp pouches with either reclosable push-to-close or “SLIDER” zippers.

This new compact small footprint StandUp and Zipper pouch machine has the following key features:

·\tMinimum 2' wide x 3 ¼' high

·\tMaximum 10' x 14' high x 6' gusset in a simplex mode

·\tSpeed is 70 per minute for maximum size pouch

·\tThe machine can be supplied to handle premade pouches and at a later stage have the pouch former added. This saves on initial capital expenditure for new projects.

·\tMachine is designed with the revolutionary ServoSmartTM patented system designed to reduce film waste to below 4% on a 7/24 basis.

·\tDuoSmartTM [patent] secondary feed roll used for registration of the StandUp feature and assists with print registration variation and reduces film loss

·\tSealSmartTM for moving the side seal station to accommodate print registration variation and reduces film wastage

·\tWebSmartTM for indexing the film through the system prior to the cutting knife and ensures even side seals

·\tAdjustSmartTM that allows the operator to adjust key features on the machine without stopping the production run avoiding film losses

·\tWeighSmartTM that allows the rotary turret to dwell momentarily and wait for slow moving product to drop from the scale weigher

·\tLamiPurgeTM [patent] economical nitrogen gas flush system that works in the pouch and not around the turret, reducing gas consumption

·\tZiPunchTM [patent] system for punching excess zipper bead from the push-to-close zipper profile. This design feature reduces the mass of the zipper in the crush sealing area and one of the results is the virtual elimination of gas leaking from the pouch. This feature is also used for the “SLIDER” zipper.

·\tEZ ChangeTM [patent pending] cassettes which reduce the changeover time on the machine by 50% to under 60 minutes

This new StandUp pouch form-fill-seal machine can be used for making large pouches for price club stores and for the food service industry. The ability to change back and forth and make pouches with push-to-close or “SLIDER” zippers allows customers to meet all the demands of the market.
