World-patented Fine CuisineTM microwave packaging/cooking system is now available from PPi Technologies, Inc. , Sarasota, FL, via exclusive licenses for specific fresh, refrigerated food product segments. System consists of polypropylene tray, peelable film lidstock so fresh vegetables can be combined with fresh meat, poultry or seafood in single cook-in container. No need to peel back or puncture lidding prior to microwaving, built-in, one-way valve releases internal steam pressure at controlled rate for even product heating during 6-minute cooking time, prevents package bursting. Refrigerated shelf life is 6 days longer, if package atmosphere is modified.
