The number of stand-up pouches used in the three largest global markets for the package will nearly double in the next five years, from 15.8 billion in 2000 to 28 billion, in 2006, according to figures released by Profile® Packaging, Inc., a division of PPI Technologies, Sarasota, FL. Profile ranks Europe, NAFTA (US, Canada and Mexico) and Japan as the three largest world markets for stand-up pouches, as follows:
