Sabel Engineering Corp. of Sonoma, California has developed a new case packer that has the capability to run both new & used cases. This model is particularly geared to the baking and snack industry where used cases are often returned to the plant for reuse. Cases with floppy flaps are carefully erected and loaded by the machine at efficiencies in excess of 99%. The machine can run new or used cases without any changeover or adjustment.

This machine is based upon Sabel's popular SE-10 and SE-15 bottom loading case packers. Speeds to 15 cases per minute are attainable and the collation module can be customized to run a variety of carton and tray sizes. A unique detection system inspects the flap orientation before the case is loaded. This process allows cases that are damaged to be identified and removed from the machine before a jam can occur.
