New data transfer method - Multifunctional safety system now also communicates via Ethernet

Thursday, October 19, 2006

Expansion modules for data transfer via Ethernet are now available for the multifunctional safety system PNOZmulti. These enable communication via the protocols Profinet/IO and EtherNet/IP or Modbus/TCP. So PNOZmulti can also be incorporated into relevant existing plants. Users benefit from reduced costs and user-friendly diagnostics.

Using the expansion modules, diagnostic data and controller information can be downloaded from PNOZmulti to the control system via Ethernet. This reduces the amount of wiring involved and lowers costs. User-friendly diagnostic options are also available, helping to reduce downtimes.

A module for a separate 24 V supply can be inserted between the base unit and expansion module. This guarantees that the expansion modules have a supply voltage that's independent of the control system, thereby increasing the availability of the bus connection.

The modular safety system PNOZmulti can be used to resolve both standard control functions and safety functions economically. All circuits are configured easily on the PC using the PNOZmulti Configurator. So it is simple to make subsequent modifications and adjustments to the configuration.
