Paper Machinery Corporation’s PMC 1002 Forming Machine Offers Platform For The New Barrier Plus Family of Packaging

Wednesday, October 30, 2002

Paper Machinery Corporation, the global leader in the design and manufacturing of paper cup and paperboard container machines, today announced that its newest machine, the PMC 1002, provides the production platform for the company’s new lenticular and thermal options of Barrier Plus™ packaging. The machine’s production capabilities will be featured at Pack Expo 2002, to be held in Chicago from November 3-7, in the PMC booth number S-1260.

The Barrier Plus family of packaging utilizes the 1002 cup forming machine to produce a pint size package which is the base package used with thermal and lenticular wraps. The PMC 1002 offers production speeds of 300 cups per minute, with a top design speed of 330 cups per minute. The machine also offers a wide range of advanced performance features to provide converters with increased cost-effective production.

“We designed the PMC 1002 to cut cup production costs and increase profits for our customers,” stated Mike Kazmierski, vice president of PMC. “When developing the Barrier Plus Packaging series, we quickly realized that the 1002 machine provided a perfect platform for producing the pint size packages that would be combined with thermal and lenticular wraps at Pack Expo.”

Built on the legacy and proven technology of the PMC 1001, the PMC 1002 incorporates many of the same performance features that have reduced wear, decreased downtime and increased production in dozens of 1001 installations. In addition, the PMC 1002 is loaded with new, advanced performance features for the fastest, easiest cup production ever. An easy-to-read color touch-screen display allows for simple, intuitive operator control of machine speed, heaters and timing, and easier monitoring of alarms and production data. "The PMC 1002 is more reliable and easier to operate than any other cup converting equipment," added Kazmierski.
