Announcement

It is with great sorrow to announce that Stephen F. Ellison, the company founder, died on June 15, 2003. For those of you who had the privilege to work with Steve, you were quite aware that he was a pioneer in packaging machinery design. His dedication to his craft over 35 years resulted in numerous unique solutions that were revolutionary in liquid filling applications.

Steve Ellison realized his vision of producing "best in class" rotary filling machines while maintaining high standards of integrity in his business relationships. While he sold the business back in 1995, the employees continue to value and appreciate the opportunities he created.

Jerry Carpino
President

New Feature

Pacific's filling machines have always incorporated a drive system that supports flexibility via a wide range of filling turret and pump speeds. Whereas in the past, the filling turret and pump were mechanically integrated via numerous mechanical drive components, the new ServoMotor Drive System offers electronic synchronization between the filling turret and pump.

The result is a drive system with the following benefits:

Improved Filling Accuracy:
Due to electronic synchronization of the filling turret and pump via elimination of mechanical linkages that wear.

Less Downtime and Maintenance:
Through the elimination of mechanical components that require scheduled maintenance to repair or replace.

Increased Reliability:
Due to zero maintenance drive system components.

Greater Productivity and Versatility:
Through the elimination of gearboxes that requiring shifting between changeover and line speed changes.

For more information on converting your existing Pacific filling machine drive system to an electronically synchronized operation, contact Pete Carpino at (949) 369-2425 x702 petec@pacificpak.com.

Reconditioned Filling Machines

Pacific offers "like-new" reconditioned filling machines based on availability. These machines are completely stripped down and rebuilt with mostly new components. Currently, we have two filling machines to offer with short lead-times at roughly 25% less than the cost of a new machine:

  • 24-Station, Bottom-up Filling Machine (5.4978" C.P.): Ideal for personal care, home care and thin food & beverage applications. Speed range of 120 to 360 C.P.M. on 8 to 48-ounce containers. Supports a maximum container size of 4.875"
  • 18-Station, Bottom-up Filling Machine (5.4105" C.P.): Ideal for personal care, home care and thin food & beverage applications. Speed range of 100 to 275 C.P.M. on 16 to 128-ounce containers. Supports a maximum container size of 7.250"

Technical Tip

To help keep your Pacific filling machine running at its best, you need to make sure that the gearboxes (Turret CPM and Pump RPM) are in the correct gear. If you are unsure of which gear setting is appropriate, turn to the "Setup" section of your Operators Manual or call Pacific for advice.

This will ensure that the motor is running at the correct speed to maintain the proper horsepower rating for driving the filling turret and pump. In addition, this will maintain the correct adjustment range for the P.I.V.

Setting the filling turret gearbox in the wrong gear causes the motor to operate at too slow a speed. Over time, the motor will overheat.

Pump P.I.V. Chain Indicator

The machine P.I.V. chain has a life indicator on it which needs to be checked on a monthly basis. You will find the indicator on the edge of the unit. A red indictor will move across a clear plastic window. As the indicator becomes completely "red", a new chain must be installed.
