Converting Case Study 1

Everyone likes to talk about the great successes they've had saving their company time and money, or increasing productivity. Everyone at Omni is driven to help people develop those stories. Just like the maker of re-closeable poly bags who changed a small sealing pad at the end of every shift. This pad was used to fuse the film to the seam material.

Problem
Three shifts a day, seven days a week, and 38 lines of production. Do the math! That's a lot of parts. And at $20 a part it really adds up. During a plant visit by our engineer, our client presented the question, "Can you do anything with this?" That's when the process began.

Solution
New materials, new processes, two or three iterations - we persevered! Later came the result. Using highly engineered polyurethane developed for high heat applications (300 degrees F+), and other related materials, the customer got something that they can brag about.

Results
The net result is a part that uses two different materials molded in a single step and is about 1/5 the price and lasts six times longer than the original application. That is a win-win situation for our customer and for us.

The savings proved immense, not to mention the reduced downtime required for maintenance.

Omni is proud to give bragging rights, are you next?
