Nordson Fill Sentry Automated Fill System Improves Productivity and Helps Promote A Safe Workplace

The Fill Sentry Automated Fill System from Nordson Corporation automatically fills up to five hot melt units from a single adhesive supply source increasing productivity, reducing operational costs and helping provide a safe workplace. ,

The Fill Sentry system, by eliminating a repetitive and time-consuming manual function, enables operators to spend more time on other line responsibilities, and offers manufacturers a preventative solution to the problem of lost time due to repetitive stress injuries.

The automatic filling capability of the Fill Sentry system eliminates the need to carry and lift heavy adhesive containers, minimizing the opportunity for operators to incur back injuries, and reduces the incidents of burns caused by spilled hot adhesive.

The Fill Sentry system uses proven vacuum pump technology and a single remote control to convey a variety of adhesives through overhead vacuum and adhesive lines that connect the supply to the hot melt units. A special tube loader and vacuum valve at each fill station controls the amount of adhesive delivered to each unit preventing accidental overfill. It also minimizes the potential for hot melt units to run dry, reducing product rejects due to inadequate bonding.

The system can accommodate a variety of adhesive bins allowing packagers the economies of buying in bulk. Depending upon the number of hot melt units and total adhesive consumption, the system can convey material up to 100 feet horizontally and 12 feet vertically, and deliver approximately 220 pounds of adhesive per hour.

The vacuum pump does not use compressed air to move adhesive throughout the system, keeping operational costs lower. The remote vacuum pump and overhead distribution lines require minimal floor space, making the system adaptable to most production areas.
