Marchesini Group SpA, Bologna, Italy, has announced the acquisition of the CO.RI.M.A company. Based in Monteriggioni (Siena), Italy, CO.RI.M.A is a major manufacturer and supplier of machines for the pharmaceutical and diagnostic industries.

With the addition of CO.RI.M.A machines, Marchesini can now offer customers complete production lines for liquid products contained in such packages as ampoules, syringes, and vials. Among the expanded capabilities Marchesini/CO.RI.M.A machines now offer:

• Ampoule filling and sealing with outputs from 12,000 to 24,000 ampoules per hour.
• External washing of vials and ampoules.
• Assembly of needle safety devices.
• Filling and stoppering for disposable syringes.
• Filling and capping for carpules.
• Washing and sterilization for vials and ampoules.
• Plunger insertion and labeling for pre-filled disposable syringes.
• Filling and capping for vials.
• Labeling for ampoules and vials.
