Unique Metal Detector Offers True Variable Frequency, Increased Sensitivity

NEW AT PACK EXPO! The Sentry VF is the industry’s first metal detector with true variable-frequency capabilities, eliminating restrictions of single frequency and ‘limited frequency’ detectors and offering greater sensitivity for companies requiring multi-product inspection.

Traditional single frequency metal detectors require internal adjustments when faced with products constructed from different materials than those typically inspected on the line, which can take several hours and delay production.

To combat this, some metal detector manufacturers have introduced systems with two or three ‘switchable’ frequencies, from which users have to compromise by selecting the one that best matches their product. However, through Loma’s sister company Cintex, the Sentry VF features a unique digital frequency synthesis system that allows dozens of frequencies between 40 KHZ and 900 KHZ to be simply ‘dialed in’ from the control panel. This technique can allow a ‘sweet spot’ to be set that maximizes metal sensitivity for the current product, providing a greater sensitivity and higher accuracy than ever achieved before.
