Clear Lam Packaging, Inc. Announces Grand Opening Of New China Manufacturing Plant

(Elk Grove Village, Illinois, May 21, 2007)

Clear Lam Packaging, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of specialty flexible and rigid plastic packaging for perishable goods, celebrated the Grand Opening of its new plant in Nanjing China on May 17, 2007. Clear Lam, with current sales of $170 million, is aggressively investing to support the growing demand for high performance packaging materials including those made from sustainable, recyclable and biodegradable sources. 

“Today’s consumers are demanding economical packaging approaches that are safer, better performing and environmentally friendly. Our China operations will allow us to continue to innovate and support customers not only in North America but also Internationally” announced James Sanfilippo, CEO of Clear Lam Packaging, Inc.

The Clear Lam China facility is a wholly owned subsidiary of Clear Lam Packaging, Inc. a privately held company headquartered in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. The Clear Lam China operation presently produces thermoformed plastic containers and custom tooling for various food processors and grocery chains located in North America. The manufacturing of specialty Flexible Films is scheduled to begin within the next 60 days. The Clear Lam China facility will employ up to 350 people.

Clear Lam produces engineered films and containers used to package foods and personal health care products for some of the largest processors in North America. It employs over 600 people in three plants located near Chicago. The finished goods are sold in traditional grocery stores, club stores, convenience stores and in Quick Serve Restaurants.
