The new EZ Open Strip™ from Zip-Pak facilitates quick and safe opening of food service packages without knives, scissors, or other sharp objects. The tear-off strip, which features an encapsulated perforation, enables the cooking staff to open the package in one quick motion, providing easy access to the product inside. Zip-Pak’s EZ Open Strip™ is ideal for single-use packages of products such as produce and frozen foods.

Flexible packaging for food service products is traditionally large, one-time-use packaging that is sealed on all four sides. Opening such bags can be time-consuming and messy for busy food staff. Scissors or knives are often used and sometimes result in injury, spillage, and waste. The EZ Open Strip™ enables employees to conveniently and quickly access bag contents – even with wet hands.

Zip-Pak’s EZ Open Strip™ is ideal for low-density polyethylene (LDPE) packages. Its proprietary Perf Cap™ (encapsulated perforation) feature keeps bags airtight and provides a hermetic, tamper-evident feature for added safety. The EZ Open Strip™ is available on pre-made wicketed bags and can cost-effectively be applied to a three-side-sealed package on the Pacmac 9500Z vertical-form-fill-seal machine.
