Ribbon Cutting for New Engineering and Manufacturing Facility in Sarasota, FL

Linda Vogel and Heidi Harlfinger principles of Harpak, Inc., Hooper Engineering’s parent company, joined Jon Ford, President of Hooper at 1:00 p.m. on May 21st in a ceremony marking the opening of the new engineering and manufacturing facility in Sarasota, Florida. Hooper Engineering uses state-of-the-art facilities to test and manufacture equipment relating to form/fill/seal technology. Hooper belongs to the PMMI Packaging Machinery and Manufacturing Institute and a number of cross-industry organizations. Harpak and Hooper serve the food, pharmaceutical, medical, industrial, meat, and consumer products industries.

The new 23,000 square foot facility located on Route 301,allows simultaneous manufacturing and testing of up to 15 large-scale lines, some as long as 60 feet. The facility is three times that of the previous address. The result of this new facility will greatly enhance efficiency, as well as add significant improvement in the visual appearance of their headquarters.

Harlfinger, Vice President of Harpak and Hooper liaison. “This new building with serve as the spring board of many new and innovative ideas. A place where our customers can relate their requirements, and have those requirements exceeded”.

This new facility already hosts Hooper Engineering’s evolution of the N2500 form/fill/seal machine. The engineering department has been working diligently to develop a stainless steel model in time for summer.
