Just in time for PACK EXPO INTERNATIONAL 2004 (Booth N-5604 )...Optimizer and Economizer awarded C.E. Marking

ICONOTECH, the originator and leading manufacturer of digital case printing equipment, is pleased to announce a C.E. mark of approval on their Optimizer and Economizer digital case and bag printers. Iconotech will be exhibiting at Pack Expo International 2004, Chicago, IL, November 7-11, Booth N-5604.

C.E. (French for “Conformite Europeenne”) is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives. It is also described as a “passport” which allows manufacturers and exporters to circulate products freely within the 15 members of the EU. Simplifying surveillance tasks and eliminating differing national product regulations among members of the EU, the letters “C.E.” indicate that the manufacturer has satisfied all assessment procedures specified by law for its product.

Both Iconotech's Optimizer (digital case printer) and Economizer (digital bag AND case printer) have been awarded the C.E. mark of approval under the following provisions: machinery directive, low voltage directive, and electro-magnetic compatibility directive. These two machines will be marked with the C.E. logo.

Products that do not carry the CE marking and are not in compliance with the directives may be restricted or prohibited from selling, or forced to withdraw from the European market. Manufacturers that are not in compliance and place products on the European market can be held personally liable for damages and/or injury. Therefore, the CE mark is important for manufacturers and importers placing products in the European market.

Iconotech has also launched their new BAR CODE WARRANTY PROGRAM. This program is the first of its kind in the business of bar coding on corrugated shipping cases. “Iconotech has always stood behind the print quality that our equipment produces,” Linda Bertelsen says. “We are now guaranteeing our customers that their shipping cases will be printed with bar codes that will meet or exceed industry standards.”

Since readable bar codes on shipping cases are critical to supply chain efficiency, the pressure is on for companies who do not comply. Some distributors even levy steep fines for illegible bar codes. Consistent print quality outputted by Iconotech’s equipment ensures top quality bar codes even on irregular corrugated surfaces.
