EDL's Straw Machine

EDL recently solved a particular problem for a customer by collating and wrapping loose, unstable packs of drinking straws. The system receives counted lots of 500 individually wrapped straws from the production line and automatically loads them into the flighted infeed of the wrapping system. The collated pack is advanced through a web of LDPE film and the system creates a totally enclosed bag around them using three seal jaws. This technology can be applied to any ‘difficult to control’ product with similar characteristics such as pens, pencils, stir sticks, zip ties, etc… Please contact EDL for more information.
