EDL Bundles Ice Cream without heat

EDL Turns the Ice Cream World Upside Down! EDL Packaging Engineers, Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin received a unique application from an ice cream manufacturer who wanted to tightly bundle “sqrounds” (square/round) of ice cream with Low Density Polyethylene film without a shrink tunnel. ¨ EDL was able to provide a tailor-made solution for the customer by combining specifications from their standard systems. By applying their unique Tight Wrap technology, EDL was successful at fulfilling the customer’s packaging needs. ¨ EDL designed and built a system to automatically invert, collate, stack and wrap the sqround containers of ice cream for unitization during the freezing process. ¨ By using Low Density Polyethylene, the customer was able to eliminate costly corrugated packaging, fully automate the bundling process and maintain pack integrity throughout the freezing process
