EDL Turns the Ice Cream World Upside Down!

*EDL Packaging Engineers, Inc. of Green Bay, Wisconsin received a unique application from an ice cream manufacturer who wanted to tightly bundle “sqrounds” (square/round) of ice cream with Low Density Polyethylene film without a shrink tunnel. *EDL was able to provide a tailor-made solution for the customer by combining specifications from their standard systems. By applying their unique Tight Wrap technology, EDL was successful at fulfilling the customer’s packaging needs. *EDL designed and built a system to automatically invert, collate, stack and wrap the sqround containers of ice cream for unitization during the freezing process. By using Low Density Polyethylene, the customer was able to eliminate costly corrugated packaging, fully automate the bundling process and maintain pack integrity throughout the freezing process.
