NEW ! Lanfranchi Rotary Preform Unscrambler

The market leader in empty container and preform handling, Lanfranchi has unveiled a new preform unscrambling system. The prototype, shown in the photo is currenly in customer test in France. The new system will guaranteed 1 to 1,5% better efficiency on any bow-moulding machine it is applied to.

Bottles slide gently on to a fixed stainless steel cone and are positioned on the circumference of the unscrambler. From here, bottles are selected by Lifters (Lift Master patent) that convey them smoothly to the upper part of the unscrambler. In this way the bottles avoid being re-scrambled and knocked about due to the high relative velocities typical of other technologies. The fast speed unscramblers carry out this operation up to 4 times per machine cycle, allowing 4 bottles to be positioned vertically on the carousel underneath (SR patent) in the space, which, in the upper part, is normally occupied by a single bottle lying down.

The efficiency of the unscrambler is further increased by the bottle extractor systems that automatically remove any damaged bottles that are conveyed to the unscrambler. Machines are constructed entirely in stainless steel.

Exceptionally high construction standards guarantee a solid design for continuous three-shift use, with very little maintenance required.

The technological leadership of Lanfranchi unscramblers is based on numerous patents aimed at optimizing product handling (No.S.T.– No Scuffing Technology) and at meeting very high production rates with unmatched efficiency. (Lo.Re.S.T. – Low Relative Speed Technology).

With the recent application of the Vacuum Starwheel extraction system, outputs of up to 100,000 bph have been reached using just one unscrambler with zero bottle scuffing.

Air Conveyor - Win-Lan

Like all Lanfranchi products, our single-chamber air conveyor represents the apex of equipment utilized for handling of empty plastic bottles. All its components—bends, combiners and dividers—have been designed to ensure superlative line performance. This level of excellence is achieved by fully exploiting the mechanical features of the air conveying system through precise layout design and expert automation, combining over twenty years of experience with the most up-to-date technology.

Dynamic working pressure check, train generation check, "bottle-train" generation and ECF (Environmental Conditions Feedback) are just some of the standard design elements. An off- the-shelf air conveyor that performs like a custom-built one: a breath of fresh air for your bottles. Our air conveyor is accompanied by a wide range of accessories, such as automatic size change of the neck or body guides and various filtration levels from standard up to 3-stage absolute filtering. Automation can also be enhanced through the addition of user aids such as JDS (Jam Detection System) or UMP (Ultra-clean Maintenance Procedure).

Belt Vacuum Unit Conveyor
Lanfranchi’s range of products for the handling of empty plastic bottles also includes belt vacuum units, made for conveying bottles that cannot be handled with air conveyor belts. Its main structural plus features are:

• Main structure of conveyor system made of stainless steel.
• Stainless steel vacuum chamber separated from the conveyor belt frame to guarantee a better vacuum level along the whole length of the conveyor.
• Connections between vacuum chamber and conveyor fitted with butterfly valves so that the vacuum level in the bottle collection tracts can be adjusted.
• Ventilator for vacuum generation fitted inside an insulated and sound-proofed steel casing.
• Upper covering of conveyor belt available in several versions.

The belt vacuum units are completed with a wide range of accessories with which it is possible, for example, to obtain divisions from one to several rows or to increase the cleanliness features of the conveyor. For this type of conveyor too, automation has been greatly refined so that, for example, the vacuum levels can be set and checked according to the different sizes to be processed.

Bulk Conveyor Belt

Lanfranchi’s range of products for the handling of empty plastic bottles also includes bulk conveyors, made for handling bottles before they reach the unscrambler. This product that is generally considered simple and not very important for the output of the line has been developed to the point of excellence. With standard parts such as elevators, lowering conveyors, hoppers and distributing trolleys, optimized layouts to meet customer requirements can be made.

The clean design, free of parts that could damage the bottles (No.S.T. – No Scuffing Technology), and the structure, naturally made of stainless steel, have been developed to satisfy the most restrictive hygiene specifications. For example, the sides can be opened to allow easy access to the inside of the conveyor belt; the covers that can be inspected, made of lexan or stainless steel, can be combined with conveyor belt overpressure fans to obtain clean conveyors.
The numerous customized features include, for example, the possibility of using plastic nets or rubberized belts or of enlarging and powering the hoppers, with covering on request, to create a few cubic metres of small collecting zones directly on the line.
The bulk conveyor belts are completed by a wide range of accessories with which it is possible, for example, to obtain small collecting zones or very clean conveyors.
For this type of conveyor too, automation has been greatly refined and we have sometimes been asked why.
For many people a bulk conveyor belt is just a simple conveyor: for Lanfranchi it is an integral part of the system. That’s why.

""Fastest"" is Lanfranchi’s newest palletising system for empty plastic bottles. Its exceptional characteristics establish a new benchmark. A constant positive handling of bottles, from the air conveyor to the pallet, guarantees both speed and efficiency, often allowing for the use of a single "Fastest" system, where previously two conventional palletizers would have been needed. Simpler systems resulting in increased line outputs. This is "Fastest"’s true strong point. A robotic technology that produces both accurate and rapid movements, which are in total harmony with an elegance of motion, that is easily deceiving. If you are measuring "Fastest"’s times/cycles, don’t throw away your stopwatch because you are clocking a winner.
