For applications requiring manual dispensing of water based glues or adhesives, rely on the Gluefast standard PAT (Pneumatic Adhesive Tank) Adhesive Applicator, which offers unmatched portability, versatility, and efficiency. PAT adhesive and gluing applicator directly applies adhesives on any substrate for case and carton sealing, wood working, and other precision applications. What is the Standard PAT Adhesive Applicator?

The standard Pneumatic Adhesive Tank (PAT) from The Gluefast Company, Inc includes a pressure tank, air gauge assembly, and glue line assembly with push button valve to dispense most water based glues and adhesives with a viscosity up to 6,000 cps.

The PAT requires an air-line to pressurize the tank, but if air is not available at the point of application you can fill the tank half-full with adhesive and then pressurize the tank to use in remote locations.

What is the PAT Sprayer?

The PAT Sprayer is an optional attachment for the PAT Adhesive Applicator. The Standard PAT uses extrusion glue heads, which allow you to apply a dot or line of glue approximately 1/4 wide. The PAT Sprayer allows you to apply a lighter coat of glue to a wider surface area. The PAT Sprayer disperses adhesive in droplet form, which allows for much faster setting times.

The PAT Sprayer has three individual controls on the spray gun itself:

1. Trigger Pull - this controls the amount of glue applied.
2. Atomizing Air Control - this limits the amount of air used to atomize the glue.
3. Pattern Control - this controls the size of the spray pattern applied.

The SOLO GLUE RITER® Applicator, MATHESIVE 101 & 202

It is a small glue bottle with a ball-and-spring valve that applies a controlled amount of adhesive developed for the picture framing industry for gluing matboards and dustcovers onto the back of a framed print. What is the SOLO GLUE RITER® Adhesive Applicator?

The SOLO GLUE RITER® is a simple plastic squeeze bottle that is filled with a fast setting, acid-free water based adhesive referred to as MATHESIVE. This adhesive glue applicator comes equipped with a uniquely designed nozzle that contains a ball-and- spring valve. When the ball is pressed downward it recesses to allow adhesive flow. When the pressure on the ball is released the spring re-seats the ball to stop adhesive flow. Depending on the type of gluing job, the SOLO GLUE RITER® is available with MATHESIVE 101 or MATHESIVE 202 formulas.

* MATHESIVE 101 is an acid-free water based adhesive that is great for gluing matboard to matboard, paper dust covers onto wood, wood-to- wood and most paper to paper gluing jobs. Its viscosity was created specifically for use with the SOLO GLUE RITER®.

* MATHESIVE 202 is an acid- free water based adhesive that can do all of the gluing jobs that the MATHESIVE 101 formula can do, plus it is good for gluing paper dust covers onto styrene (ABS) frames also!

Hot Melt Glue Gun Adhesive Applicators

The Gluefast Company, Inc. manufactures hot melt glue guns to accommodate most heavy-duty and industrial operations, as well as hobby and craft type applications. Our electronic hot melt glue guns are adhesive applicators that are designed to bond two materials quickly and easily. Simply insert the glue stick into the back of the hot melt glue gun, and as the hot melt adhesive turns to molten form, disperse even streams of hot melt glue onto the material's surface using a trigger feed control.

What is a Hot Melt Glue Gun?

Hot melt glue guns are electronically operated adhesive applicators designed to disperse hot melt glue sticks to bond two materials quickly and easily. Generally, hot melt glue guns utilize hot melt adhesives in the form of glue sticks.

Hot melt glue guns are typically classified as low-temperature or high- temperature. Low-temperature glue guns usually heat up to about 250°F and are well suited for delicate work, such as applying adhesive to lace or cloth. High-temperature hot melt glue guns generally heat up to around 380°F and are used for heavy-duty projects.

HMG-HD3 Hot Melt Glue Gun

HMG-IND Hot Melt Glue Gun

The HMG-IND industrial hot melt glue gun model from The Gluefast Company, Inc. is lightweight but rugged enough to operate even in the most demanding environments. Built for daily use, this adhesive applicator comes equipped with an on/off switch, an ergonomic handle, and a built-in stand for support. An efficient melt chamber reduces effort required to extrude adhesive and minimizes operator fatigue, which substantially improves the productivity in adhesive application.

Considered a high-temperature glue gun, the HMG-IND can be used for a variety of heavy-duty projects. Specifically, this model lends itself well to applications where small quantities of hot melt adhesive are required repetitively in product assembly, packaging, and general industrial use on a daily basis. For more demanding work, it may be best to use Gluefast’s HMG-HD3 hot glue gun model that features variable high and low temperature control.

Available adapters and nozzles for hot melt adhesive applicators include:

  • HMG-NAD is an adapter needed for HMG-N1 and HMG-ND nozzles.
  • HMG-N1 nozzle applies 5 thin stripes of adhesive 1/8" apart-for use with HMG-HD3 only.

  • HMG-HN is the standard nozzle for the Heavy Duty Glue Gun.

The Gluefast Company, Inc. offers hot melt glue sticks for a wide range of crafts and hobbies, as well as packaging, labeling, and assembly applications. Gluefast's hot melt glue sticks are easy to apply with one of our hot melt glue guns or other competitive models, are available in 1/2" diameter (contact Gluefast regarding other diameter glue sticks) and are cost- effective for extensive use in certain high-volume operations.

At room temperature, hot melt glue sticks are in solid form and as they are applied to the surface of a material they turn into molten form. When cooled to a temperature below its melting point, hot melt glue results in a strong bond that is guaranteed to last. In fact, hot glue is as permanent as epoxy glue and it is suitable in applications where epoxy is not. Consequently, it is important to note that hot melt adhesives should not be used to glue something that you may want to remove later on.

Depending on the way this specialty polymer coating is applied to the surface of a print, photo, or poster, the look of the finished product can be varied, ranging from a paint-brush look to a canvas-type appearance. Apply Craquelure Faux Finish Texture Coating using a:

* Paint Brush - the operator can completely control the look of this effect.
* Paint Roller - provides a textured look. For added texture, apply more product with a 1/2" or higher nap roller.
* Non-Absorbing Foam Roller - applies thin lines of acrylic onto the print. The coating is applied in one direction and allowed to dry. A second coat is applied - turning the print 90 degrees - providing a texturized linen/canvas-type look.
* Top Coating Machine - applies the Craquelure coating onto nearly any item from paper to board stock up to ½" (13mm) thick.

What is Craquelure Texture Coating?

Craquelure texture coating is an acid-free water based acrylic polymer coating. Craquelure refers to the hairline surface cracking of paintings into characteristic texture patterns determined by climate conditions and materials used in the creation of the painting.

The glues and adhesives offered by Gluefast can be divided into two broad categories:

Water Based Glues and Adhesives

These are liquid products used in the packaging, converting, and graphics industries for many applications. When the water evaporates a bond is formed. In most cases one of the substrates to be glued must be porous. These water based products offer great economy.

Applications include: general labeling, poster mounting, and case and carton sealing.

Additional applications for water-based adhesives include palletizing, and picture framing applications.

Hot Melt Adhesives

Hot Melt adhesives are made from various combinations of resin (ethylene vinyl acetate for example), and wax along with other materials. The adhesive is applied hot and bonds as it cools. The cost per pound is more than with water based adhesives, but the speed of set is often so much faster that the increase production rates warrant its use.

Hot melt adhesives generally are less pervious to water than water based products, but they are also more sensitive to temperature changes. For example, most hot melt adhesives become very brittle when exposed to cold temperatures, and they begin to soften at temperatures above 160Å F.

Applications include automatic labeling, case and carton sealing, product assembly, padding, pallet stabilization, and more.

What is a Pressure Sensitive Adhesive?

Pressure sensitive adhesives are bonding substances that activate when pressed down upon. Glue Dots® and Gluefast DUOS, are spots of pressure sensitive hot melt adhesives extruded onto silicone release liners. Unlike most hot melt adhesives, Glue Dots® remain tacky at room temperature. The adhesive dot bonds weakly with the silicone and the user easily transfers a dot on one substrate and applies pressure with another substrate to make the two stick together. As a removable dot, pressure sensitive adhesives are best known to the public as the glue that adheres credit-card-like items to the paper carrier in promotional mailings. There are different tack strengths for different needs.

What are Pressure Sensitive Adhesive Glue Dots® used for?

Glue DOTS®

Glue Dots® are pressure-sensitive adhesives that are sometimes referred to as fugitive glue or booger glue and consist of a spot of glue about the size of a dime (1/2" diameter). Faster and safer than hot melt glues and cleaner than liquid adhesives, Glue Dots® bond instantly and, unlike double-sided tapes, do not leave a sticky residue.

Gluefast DUOS

Gluefast DUOS are pressure sensitive spots of glue about the size of a dime (1/2" diameter). Often referred to as fugitive glue or booger glue, Gluefast DUOS are similar to Glue Dots® except that the adhesive formulation is slightly different and the silicone release liner is two inches wide with two dots instead of one. Compared to Glue Dots®, Gluefast DUOS are a cost-effective alternative with about a 15% cost savings to the end user.
