Descon is a custom manufacturer of conveyor systems specializing in the supply of state-of-the-art conveyor systems to the Food and Beverage industry. All of our systems are designed and fabricated in-house, and are constructed of stainless steel to the most exacting specifications. Container Handling Systems

Descon conveyor systems are custom designed for the transport of containers at all speeds. Our systems transport aluminum and steel cans, new and returnable glass bottles, PET, REF PET and HDPE bottles.
Our complete line of modular belt and slat chain conveyor accepts products in single-file or mass and then de-accelerates, transports, accumulates or single-files them as required for superior production efficiencies.
Working closely with our suppliers, Descon is on top of the latest modular belt and slat chain products being offered and is often the first to take advantage of their benefits. Our customers are the ultimate beneficiaries of Descon's commitment to being the best.
Our team of engineers will work hand-in-hand with our Customers designing the optimum conveyor and machinery layout. We consider accumulation; reaction time of machinery; operator accessibility; and line balance to ensure that conditions are optimum for your containers performance.
Our engineers know that when developing a line layout: the number and type of transfers provide the desired amount of control; the width of belting determines the rate at which containers will come in contact with one another; that reaction time is as important as accumulation.

Elevators/Lowerators

It is often necessary to change the elevation of containers to accommodate the configurations of different packaging machines, within the constraints of available floor space.
Descon Elevators and Lowerators are designed to quickly change the elevation of empty and full PET, glass, cans, and other round and non-round containers. The container is gently, but firmly, gripped by the sides and carried through the change in elevation at speeds up to 1200 cpm. The side grippers are a soft rubber material, guaranteed not to damage the containers in any way.
When properly controlled and interfaced to the surrounding equipment, Elevators and Lowerators are a very efficient way of handling containers in a tight space.
Four basic styles are available: Z, C, Hump, and reduced inclined Z. The optimum style is provided based on your design requirements.

Pressureless Single-Filer

With the advent of increasingly faster production lines and lightweight containers, comes the need for a reliable manufacturer of High-Speed Pressureless Single-Filer's.
Through the use of differential chain speeds, accurately positioned guide rails, photocells, pressurized air blow-off, vacuum (when necessary), and precision transition sections; Descon is able to provide (and guarantee) the successful transition of containers from mass to single-file at today's production speeds.
By evacuating any downed bottles, which can interrupt line flow, and achieving speeds of up to 1000 bpm on most single serve beverage containers, Descon is providing its Customers with a single-filing solution, not merely a single-filer.

Case Handling Conveyors

Zero-Pressure Case Conveyor - Descon has developed a line of zero pressure case conveyor products designed specifically to meet today’s stringent demands on product integrity and appearance. Descon’s zero-pressure case conveyor system eliminates back-pressure that can damage products by engaging and disengaging the drive chain from the product. This system accumulates product in zones, each equipped with an air bag actuator and controlled via electric photo-cells. During accumulation mode (interruptions in downstream production), the main transport chain lowers to its default position, allowing the product to gently come to rest on UHMW rails running the entire length of the accumulation conveyor. Once downstream production resumes, each zone will systematically and sequentially lift the main transport chain bringing cases back into motion.
Shell/Case Conveyor - In applications where accumulation is not warranted, the conveyor can consist of a double strand of side-flexing modular belting traveling in a U.H.M.W. track, and will stop via motor control in a back-up situation maintaining proper case orientation at all times.
Inclines / Declines - Incline and decline conveyors utilize Diamond Friction or Flat Friction Top plastic modular belting. This belting provides a high degree of friction between chain and product; is completely modular; sprocket and motor driven and able to continue through a change in the angle of inclination and declination without splitting the belt.

Rinsers

Prior to entering the Filler, containers must be rinsed thoroughly and efficiently to eliminate dust, static or other particles. Descon Side Grip Rinsers are capable of speeds up to 1200 cpm and are ideal for glass and plastic containers in either round or non-round configurations.
In-line Side Grip Rinser - Our In-line Side Grip Rinser is designed for applications requiring a similar infeed and discharge elevation. Ideal for applications involving low level Depalletizers, Unscramblers, or on-line Blow Molding of plastic containers where the container is already at the required Filler elevation.
Lowerator Side Grip Rinser - Our Lowerator Side Grip Rinser is designed to accommodate two functions in one process: rinsing and changing the container elevation. Ideal for applications involving high-level depalletizers, this system enables all conveyors whether they are slat chain, modular belt or air conveyor to be run level. Once the container is held firmly by the gripper style chain, any required change in elevation is easily and efficiently accommodated.
