Mettler-Toled Hi-Speed, Inc. became incorporated in April of 1953. On June 26, 1981, Hi-Speed became a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Reliance Electric Company of Cleveland, Ohio. In December 1986, Hi-Speed became a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of the Toledo Scale Corporation, which in 1989 became a Wholly Owned Subsidiary of Mettler USA.

Throughout their history, Hi-Speed has pioneered the development and technology of high-speed checkweighing. Hi-Speed's commitment to improving checkweighing techniques has made them the largest checkweighing company in the world. As early as 1971 when Intel Corporation developed the first microprocessor chip, Hi-Speed incorporated that technology in the development of their checkweighers. Hi-Speed's mechanical capabilities in designing and building special machines and product handling systems like the suspended scale transport have kept them in the forefront among competition. New ideas, new technologies, and new applications are constantly being developed to utilize our capabilities and increase the growth of Hi-Speed.
