For more than 25 years Delkor has been known for manufacturing one of the best lines of vertical tray and carton forming machinery. Over the years Delkor has manufactured well over 1,000 such machines for a broad spectrum of industries.

Delkor has also earned a reputation for innovation in packaging technology. During the past several years Delkor has been awarded numerous U.S. and international patents for its SPOT-PAK® and TRAY-PAK® package innovations.

Delkor’s SPOT-PAK® packaging system changed the equation for using efficient flat pads for packaging a wide variety of product. Traditional trays and boxes are considerably more expensive than a flat pad, but the instability of flat pad packaging has always been a problem.

Delkor SPOT-PAK® packaging technology uses a temporary adhesive bond to hold product in place during the packaging process, thereby eliminating this inherent instability. Today such notable companies as Hersheys, Dean Foods, Proctor & Gamble, Dannon, Kroger, HEB, Hood, Publix, Safeway, Reser’s Fine Foods, Wells Blue Bunny, Nestle, Wal*Mart, and Costco rely upon Delkor’s SPOT-PAK® package to ship their product to market. Delkor’s SPOT-PAK® package is patented in the U.S., Mexico, Canada, the European Community, Australia, and pending in a several other countries. For more detailed information on Delkor’s SPOT-PAK® Packaging System see the attached equipment brochure (SPOT-PAK® brochure).
In the North American dairy industry, where Delkor first introduced its SPOT-PAK® package, nearly 50% of the North American production lines for such products as cottage cheese, sour cream, dips, etc, now go to market in a SPOT-PAK® package. The savings over trays or boxes typically result in packaging material savings from $100 to $300 per hour, depending on container size and line speed For more information about a typical customer’s experience in replacing case packers with Delkor’s SPOT-PAK® Packaging System see the attached story about Kemps (Kemps Story)
.

In 2003 Delkor debuted another important packaging technology at both Pack Expo – Las Vegas and the Worldwide Food Expo – Chicago. Delkor introduced its TRAY-PAK® package for which it was awarded a U.S. package patent in 2003, and has other patents pending.

After two-years of development and a successful roll-out with one of America’s largest mass merchandisers, Delkor’s TRAY-PAK® offers producers an effective solution for both a one-way shipper that performs in distribution as well as a box or tray, but when opened at the store, it immediately transforms into smaller shelf-ready display trays without any modification or cutting of the corrugated.

The major problem facing many mass merchandisers is the cost for the final 50 feet of the distribution channel. The traditional corrugated box or tray is fine for shipment of the product, but it does not address the need for a rapid and effective shipper to shelf conversion. Delkor’s TRAY-PAK® package was developed to address this need in the marketplace.

Delkor also manufactures a line of automatic tray loading machinery. The tray loading applications are wide and varied, but the company is particularly well known for its specialization at tray loading of tapered containers. These machines are well adapted to handle a full range of tray styles (standard, full height HSC, fiber tray, die-cut, etc. (linkage to tray loading section of website)
